Note : You can contact technical support at 1-844-594-6063 – 24/7 Available.

There are many reasons for data damage but these are the main ones:-

  • Error messages when opening and working in company file
  • Company file is running very slow
  • Converting the data from company file
  • Amounts on the Balance Sheet do not match amounts on the specialty reports (A/R, A/P, Inventory, etc.).
  • Reports do not show all accounts
  • Deleted memorized reports still showing on the list
  • Cannot edit or save a transaction
  • Names are missing from lists

Solutions:-

  1. The first step should be to check why you think that the file is damaged.
  2. If there is affected company file which is less than 24 hours old, restore that file to a different location
  3. If there is no backup of company file, make one.
  4.  Verify the data and If the error b-check failed comes up then it means there is damage in the file and it needs to be rebuild
  5. When rebuilding the data (message will appear when you verify in end).
    • Press Command+1. Record the file size, transactions, targets, and links before and after rebuild process
    • The file will become smaller, as Rebuild generally removes the unwanted parts of the file.
  6. Before checking any reports, sort the Names, Chart of Accounts, Items, Classes, and Memorized Transaction lists
  7. Run verify again because it can find the problems that Rebuild did not repair.
  8. Open Hard driveUserLibraryLogsQuickBooks.log.
    • If there is a damaged transaction, delete and re-enter the transaction
  9. Use Custom Transaction Detail report and Sort by Type.
  10. Look for file called not specified or transaction. if you find any  delete and re-enter
  11. Make sure you have a backup then delete memorized transactions and reports
  12. Run these :
    1. UN-categorized Expense: Run Quick Report on the Expense account.
      • Rebuild will usually show out-of-balance transactions in this account as a way to “balance” the transaction.
      • Look for transactions other than voided checks
